And I’ve been a little pre-occupied with this little beast Ralphy - who’s a gorgeous little crazy, funny, sometimes sleepy whippet pup who’s now taken up residence in our home :)

Ok so I haven’t quite finished off my embroidery but I did create my first patch work quilt for my nephew! He loves it as it matches his new Thomas the tank engine theme room. It took me about 18 hours from start to finish.

Stop sitting on my arse and mindlessly watching TV project
I don’t know about you but I always feel guilty about getting in from work and just plonking myself in front of the TV - staring mindlessly at it… So I decided that I needed to get myself creative but not in a ‘Come on Alex get creative!’ Mr T stylie, more try and remember what I use to enjoy when I was a kid that was creative.
I used to create loads of stuff when I was younger and had the time, painting, flower pressing, baking, drawing, jewelry, mud pies - then I remembered that I used to really enjoy embroidering. I know it sounds like I’m a grandma for saying that but it really is therapeutic, you can totally switch off from everything else and just focus on making something look pretty, not to mention that its totally coming back in a retro way.
So above is my first project that I’ve started which is sort of free hand embroidery piece to get me back into the stitches etc
I’ll keep you updated with the progress of it and if you fancy finding out a bit more about embroidery then check out this lady Jenny Hart who is rocking the embroidery world right now!

Time to make real stuff!
Ok so stumbled across this guy Cory Roberts on Swiss miss and his image pretty much sums up what I want to do for 2012. MAKE SHIT BY HAND. I’ll be working on some personal project so will keep you posted - In the mean time why don’t you go make shit by hand too :) x
